All About Scarring
Here we seek to empower you with the knowledge to deal with scarring. Find out what makes the skin scar and how we can then tackle scars together!
Scarring can be divided into four main types.
A) Rolling scars - scars that are very wide but shallow , and held down by bad collagen fibres.
B) Ice pick scars - scars that are very narrow but deep.
C) Boxcar scars - scars that are not too deep and not too wide.
D) Hypertrophic/ Keloidal scars - scars that protrude outwards due to overgrowth of collagen.
Other types of scarring that you might experience are post acne redness or darkening/ hyperpigmentation where we have mentioned them in our other pages.
The suggested treatments vary for each of these scars as different treatment techniques are meant to target the crux of each type of scarring.
